Illuminated Aluminum Channel Letter Lighting Styles
Our illuminated aluminum channel letters are assembled from acrylic and aluminum components and can be equipped with optional illuminated inserts. Illuminated aluminum channel letters are available with front illumination or halo illumination, as well as two lighting combinations.
Front Lit Channel Letters
Standard type, also known as front-illuminated or front-lit, these channel letters can be further divided into trim cap channel letters and trimless channel letters.
Trim cap channel letters
Trim cap channel letters are made with a trim cap, a flexible plastic molding that wraps around an aluminum core. It is used in conjunction with adhesive to secure the letter face and corners. The trim cap is highly malleable and can conform to the shape of the letters or signage.
Trimless channel letters
Trimless channel letters feature illuminated acrylic panels with no trim cap on the front, giving them a modern look. A metal frame is used, and high-strength epoxy resin is used to secure the letter panel to the frame, eliminating the need for a decorative cap.
Reverse lit channel letters
Reverse-lit channel letters, also known as halo-lit signs, refer to these channel letters, which can be called backlit channel letters or edge-lit channel letters.
Backlit channel letters
Backlit channel letters typically have concealed acrylic on the back, requiring standoffs to maintain a distance from the wall, creating a halo effect when illuminated.
Edge-lit channel letters
Edge-lit channel letters are reverse-illuminated channel letters with 5mm-20mm of exposed acrylic on the back. They can be directly mounted to the wall without gaps, giving them a more premium feel.
Combined Types: Front and Back Lit Channel Letters
Combining the two lighting methods mentioned above, it can be Trimless front and back lit channel letters, Trim cap front and back lit channel letters, Trimless front and edge lit channel letters, or Trim cap front and side lit channel letters.
